Thanks for visiting our page for HE contacts. For those of you that are not familiar with our work, Stand Alone is a charity that helps estranged adults and young people. We’re currently working closely with the HE sector to help students that are estranged from their parents with access, evidence and accommodation.

As part of this work, we’re putting together a new student site to be launched towards the end of February. This site is due to be linked up to the new on-line application process at SFE, so students who tick the ‘estranged’ independent box will be advised to visit the site for guidance with providing evidence of their estrangement.

At launch, the site will include the following: guide for students with evidencing family estrangement; advice for professionals working with students to evidence estrangement; financial advice for students; and a list of service contacts for current and prospective students to seek further advice with any issues related to SFE application, evidence and bursaries. (We would be referring prospective students to their first choice institution).

We’d really like to make a comprehensive list of widening participation, support or money advisor contacts at each university, to be published on the site and/or for us to refer to if we find a student that needs help at your institution.
